Rai Rakang is a small coffee plantation situated on the outskirts of the village of Ban Haui Sak , 15 minutes drive south of Thailand ’s far-northern city of Chiang Rai . (Or half an hour from Chiang Rai International Airport .) There are two guesthouses on Rai Rakang; Baan Ling and Baan Chang. Baan Ling. The smaller Baan Ling guesthouse is located in the refurbished original farmer’s cottage and is furnished predominantly with Burmese colonial furniture. The view from Baan Ling’s sala overlooks the nearby lake and, with its backdrop of mountains, beautiful sunsets often obligingly appearing around gin and tonic time. The bedroom has a king-sized bed and en-suite bathroom. There is a kitchen and second bathroom at the rear of the house. Baan Ling is equipped with a music system, but no telephone or television. |
